Holiday Gift Guide: Cougar Flicks!
"Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me." Since at least 1967, when Dustin Hoffman delivered this famous line to Anne Bancroft in the classic film The Graduate, cougars have made quite an impression on the movie-going public.

For's 2008 Holiday Gift Guide we run down the absolute essential flicks for your Cougar Flick library.

The Graduate (1967)

Not only is Mike Nichol's film The Graduate perhaps the qunitessential cougar movie, it aslo happens to be one of the greatest movies ever made. Anne Bancroft's Mrs. Robinson remains one of the first and most enduring cougars on the big screen. The "Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me" scene stands as among the most memorable scenes in film history and the one most people talk about when they talk about cougars.

Harold & Maude (1971)

Yes, it's disturbing, but it's also pure comic genius. Director Hal Ashby loves him some cougars (he also directed Shampoo) and this film - "the unlikely romance between a death-obsessed 19-year-old named Harold (Bud Cort) and a life-loving 79-year-old widow named Maude (Ruth Gordon)" - is his crowning achievement.

Class (1983)

Ah, Jacqueline Bisset. So hot. And this classic teen coming-of-age sex comedy from the early 80's stands as the "class" of the genre (sorry). In the film, Bisset and prep school teen Andrew McCarthy engage in a passionate love affair with one complicating factor... unbeknownst to both, she's the mother of McCarthy's dorm mate (Rob Lowe).

Loverboy (1989)

Before he was McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey was a nerdy pizza delivery boy who had the inexplicable good fortune to service a ton of hot cougars in another classic teen sex comedy from the '80s. Anybody else miss the '80s?

Sex and the City: The Movie (2008)

This movie was the most anticipated entertainment event of the year for women across the country, and the film didn't disappoint. It was pretty good, a huge success, and has inspired a ton of new projects in the name of cougars! What's not to recommend?!
